Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced
Prepared Foods Department Supervisor to join our team at Whole
Foods Market. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be
responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Prepared
Foods department, ensuring excellent customer service, and leading
a high-performing team of Prepared Foods Team Members.Key
Responsibilities
- Leadership and Team Management: Supervise and delegate tasks to
Prepared Foods Team Members, ensuring seamless execution of daily
operations.
- Training and Development: Collaborate with the Prepared Foods
Trainer to develop and implement training programs that foster a
high-performance team and minimize turnover.
- Customer Service: Maintain a high level of customer
satisfaction by ensuring all cases and shelves are clean,
well-stocked, and properly rotated.
- Department Operations: Open and close the department according
to established procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient
workflow.
- Team Support: Communicate team concerns to the Team Leader and
Associate Team Leader, fostering a positive and supportive team
environment.
- Performance Evaluation: Provide timely, thorough, and
thoughtful performance evaluations, promoting growth and
development within the team.Requirements
- Experience: 12+ months retail experience, preferably in a
leadership or supervisory role.
- Skills: Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building,
and customer relationship skills, with the ability to prioritize
and delegate tasks effectively.
- Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of Prepared Foods team
procedures and policies, with a strong understanding of regulatory
and safety policies and procedures.Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- In an 8-hour workday: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
- Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and
pulling.
- Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting,
squatting and reaching.
- Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
- Exposure to temperatures: 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights,
weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box
cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
- May require use of ladders.
